Description

Chinese Pepper Steak is a fast and flavorful stir-fry featuring marinated flank steak, crisp-tender peppers, and onions in a savory sauce — perfect over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 large onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced (or red for sweetness)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: dash of sesame oil

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, cornstarch, and oyster sauce. Marinate beef for 10+ minutes.

2. Heat oil in a skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds.

3. Add beef, stir-fry until cooked (about 5 mins). Remove and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, stir-fry onions and peppers until tender-crisp (about 4 mins).

5. Return beef to skillet. Add pepper and optional sesame oil.

6. Stir everything together and cook 2 more minutes.

7. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers with the garlic.
