Slow Cooker Turkey Breast is a simple, flavorful main dish made with herb-butter–rubbed turkey cooked low and slow over vegetables until juicy and tender, with optional gravy made from the drippings.

Ingredients

Scale

2.55 lb turkey breast

4 tbsp butter, softened

Salt

Black pepper

Poultry seasoning

Dried thyme

Dried rosemary

Garlic powder

Paprika

1 onion, chopped

2 carrots, chopped

2 celery stalks, chopped

¾1 cup broth

1 lemon

Cornstarch, for gravy

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened butter with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Gently loosen the turkey skin and rub the herb butter under and over the skin.
  3. Place the onion, carrots, and celery in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Pour in the broth and squeeze lemon juice over the vegetables.
  5. Place the turkey breast on top of the vegetables.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 3.5–5 hours or on HIGH for 1.75–2.5 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 160–165°F.
  7. Remove the turkey and let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  8. Optional: place the turkey under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp the skin.
  9. To make gravy, transfer drippings to a saucepan and thicken with a cornstarch slurry over medium heat.

Notes

Cooking time will vary based on turkey size and slow cooker model. Always use a thermometer to ensure doneness.
